Astound Broadband provides discounted internet and TV bundles across its Grande and RCN networks only. The bundle list is long due to how Astound Broadband breaks its RCN network into six markets, so pricing and availability may be different where you live.
Overall, Astound Broadband pairs all internet plans with its Basic TV and Preferred TV services. You can bundle internet with phone service if you don’t need TV, or bundle all three services together for one low price. Most bundles offer cable internet while a few others have fiber, like those made available in Luzerne County.
Astound Broadband is ideal if you can’t get fiber and want faster speeds than DSL. It’s one of the few internet providers that cater to gamers too, offering NETGEAR’s Nighthawk XR1000 router and custom in-home wired networking (for additional fees).
You can find Astound’s 300Mbps Internet plan in nearly every service area if you’re on a budget. Its fastest cable internet plan has download and upload speeds of up to 940Mbps and 50Mbps, respectively. Its fastest fiber plan has symmetrical speeds up to 1,500Mbps.
Pros
Cons
Astound Broadband’s main competitors are Spectrum and Xfinity. Spectrum keeps your options simple and consistent no matter where you live, while Astound has a different lineup in the DC Metro area than it has in Chicago, for example. Xfinity has a more streamlined lineup now than it has in recent years.
Astound Broadband ranks in the bottom half of every category in our latest customer satisfaction survey. Its best rankings are in customer service, reliability, and speed, while its weakest link is in price satisfaction. Astound has some of the highest post-promo prices we’ve seen, so the low pricing mark isn’t all that surprising.
Overall, based on our survey, Astound customers are far less satisfied with their internet service than those with Xfinity and Spectrum.

Astound Broadband provides fiber internet in California, Oregon, Texas, and in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
